You know, don’t be so quick to compare your productivity with Stephen King’s. I mean no offense to King fans, but perhaps his stories could use some of your “write 4, pitch 3″ mentality. Granted, the only thing of his I’ve read is “The Stand,” so I don’t have a strong basis for my opinion. But it needed some SERIOUS trimming. I’m not averse to long books, but I don’t appreciate large sections of prose which are clearly not important to the plot. It ends up feeling like filler, and I’d much rather read a succinct, well-written tale. So I ask you, is it telling that this is the only Stephen King book I’ve ever read?
